Playground and Environment
Our large nature-based playground, accessible from every room, is a unique feature of our program. It reflects our belief in the importance of integrated play for young children across the age ranges, where risky play is encouraged to build confidence, manage challenges and develop physical skills.
Research supports the idea that large, open spaced allow children to engage in meaningful play that fosters both social and individual development. We believe that when children have access to natural environments, they develop stronger cognitive, emotional and social skills, while also building resilience through unstructured and teacher led play.
It is a space full of exciting discoveries, from climbing trees, digging in the sand and mud pits to exploring worm farms, compost areas and growing vegetables. We use loose materials like sticks and crates to spark children’s imagination and creativity, encouraging problem-solving and teamwork.
We offers a dedicated playground for babies and toddlers in the Yarragum room, providing a calm, safe and adventurous space that caters specifically for their developmental stage. This area allows children to explore at their own pace, separate from the larger playground, supporting their growth and learning in a nurturing environment.
