Two Rooms, Countless Smiles
In our over 3 year old rooms we educate and care for up to 16 children and have a ratio of 1 educator to 8 children, which is well above the required legislative ratio.
We run a flexible, integrated program that supports children’s emotional wellbeing. We place great importance on relationships and nurturing each child’s needs and interest. Each child’s intellectual, physical, social and creative abilities are stimulated and supported. With a focus on child-directed play and learning, educators guide and mentor and support children through a range of integrated teaching and learning approaches.
We recognise and value the primary role that families play in their children’s lives and engage in family-centred practice to support shared decision making about their child’s learning and development.
Each room has a team of dedicated and qualified educators with a room leader thats support the staff in the delivery of the educational program. Our Management and Administrative team supports and guides the staff to implement the Early Years Learning and National Quality Frameworks.
We link our practice to the Victorian Early Years Learning Practice Principles and outcomes:
- Children have a strong sense of identity
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
Our shared yard with its many natural and sustainable features, provides opportunity for exploration and community engagement across the centre which supports foundations for learning, skills for building relationships, emotional intelligence, a sense of community and resilience for life.
Excursions
We are fortunate to have an amazing, large park right on the doorstep of our centre where regular excursions take place.
Small group excursions provide opportunities for our children to be involved in experiences and engage in the world they live in, making strong connections with the community. Children encounter in their environment new noises, sights, smells and experiences.
